Memorial Day Weekend Fun and Festivities

Memorial Day weekend is almost here and it’s a great time to enjoy Mohegan Sun Pocono. Join Mohegan Sun Pocono from Thursday, May 21st through Monday, May 25th for a weekend full of entertainment including live music, exciting horse racing and the opening of the spectacular outdoor Terrace.
The fun begins on Thursday, May 21st at 8:00pm at Breakers where four lucky finalists will compete in the grand finale of the Battle of the Bands and the winner of this year’s competition will be chosen. Since March 12th, 32 bands have competed in this, the 5th year of the event, and it’s finally down to the final four—Nowhere Slow, Coast 2 Coast, Stealing Neil and Facing the Giants. Come on out to see the action and cheer for your favorite band to win the grand prize of $10,000!
On Friday, May 22nd, unwind and have a drink at the Terrace before you begin your weekend. Located just off the hotel lobby, the Terrace is a relaxing outdoor venue with cozy seating surrounding an open fire, with live entertainment from Mike Dougherty on Friday, May 22nd and Music for Models on Saturday, May 23rd. Also on Friday and Saturday nights, dance to live entertainment at Bar Louie, Breakers and Ruth’s Chris Steak House, or enjoy a fun night of laughs with Kevin Downey Jr., Marc Yaffee and Scott Bruce at Wise Crackers Comedy club.
On Saturday, May 23rd at 8:00pm, Blues Traveler brings their high energy performance and top hits like “Hook,” “Run-AroundBlues_Traveler” and “But Anyway” to the stage in the Keystone Grand Ballroom. Since their Top 10 success of Four over twenty years ago, these Rock icons have released numerous albums, including their 12th and most recent, Blow up the Moon, on April 7th. Tickets are still available for $50.00, $30.00 and $20.00 through Ticketmaster or at the Mohegan Sun Pocono Box Office.
If it’s harness racing that you’re after, there’s plenty of action on Saturday and Sunday at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. At 6:30pm on both days, cheer for your favorite horse from the outdoor grandstand and patio, or enjoy the outstanding view of the track and surrounding mountains while dining at Pacers Clubhouse.
