Bully McCool N wins Tuesday Night Feature at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs

WILKES-BARRE, PA — After winning two straight in the $25,000 claiming class, Bully McCool’s first attempt in a $30,000 claiming pace at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs Tuesday, May 25th, was a successful one.
The 10-year-old gelding, trained by Laura Shock and driven to victory by George Napolitano Jr., went wire to wire from the one post and stopped the timer in 1:51. The time is a new life mark for Bully McCool N.
Napolitano Jr. quickly seized the lead, taking the nine-horse field to the opening quarter in 26, half in 54.4 and three-quarter pole in 1:22.3 and holding off a hard-closing Eagle All (Jim Morrill Jr.) with third going to Best Route (Greg Merton).
In 16 starts this season, Bully McCool N has won five times with five second-place finishes and two thirds. Back on April 7, Bully McCool N was claimed for $15,000 and since that time has continued to climb in the claiming ranks at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Napolitano Jr., the track’s leading driver, had collected five wins through 12 races of the 16-race card. That gave him a total of 108 wins on the 37th race date of the 2010 meet.
